I have fished these for over 30 years and they are deadly when the Beetle is hatching, and when not!
They land with a small plop that attracts fish, but be aware the takes can be explosive! Other times however, they will gently sip it in when there's no naturals on the water.
They sit low in the surface and they are difficult to see, which is where they fish best.
I fish 2 of these 6 foot apart when calm, and two of these 6 foot apart in front of a Foam Daddy on the top dropper if there's a wave - so that I can watch the water in front for any signs of a taking fish.
